Sunrise Orange County officially becomes a Sunrise Chapter! We stayed as a hub for years but through the devotion, perseverance and compassion that all of our members gave to Sunrise Orange County over the years, we reached the member quantity needed to become a chapter. We continue to stand because of the contributions of our past members and will push on with our current and future members.
5 members of Sunrise OC attended the Sunrise National training in Michigan to learn about how we can build each other up, stay together, and make real positive change happen. They also canvassed for local progressive candidates Abdul El-Sayed for Senate and Will Lawrence, Co-Founder of Sunrise, for Congress.

Sunrise OC joins with over 100 people to the Costa Mesa city council's public comment to speak against renewing the city's Flock contract. The public comment lasted until after midnight. Sunrise was a critical part of the coalition to organize more than 10 local organizations to show up and let the city council know that the community is stands against Flock. Unfortunately, only one council member voted to cancel the contract while the remaining six opted to “tighten the contract language” in a few months.
Sunrisers went to Costa Mesa to drop a banner and speak about the negative impacts that ALPR cameras have on our communities and what is at stake for the residents of Costa Mesa. We wanted to bring attention to the public comment of Costa Mesa's decision to renew their contract with Flock on July 21st.

Sunrisers gathered to discuss and vote on who we wanted Sunrise OC to support and endorse for the 2026 Midterm Primaries. We spent time researching candidates in Orange County to recommend for the California primary elections on June 2nd.

Sunrise OC joins VietRiseOC and other OC organizations at Garden Grove City Council's meeting discussing the GKN toxic leak to demand that GKN be shutdown for their negligence and war-profitering.
Sunrise OC attended the May Day protests at Sasser Park, Santa Ana to join the country-wide protest of ICE and the Trump administration.

Sunrise OC members tabled at No Kings 3.0 in solidarity with the anti-authoritarian movement. We wanted to join the people of America in their declaration to say "NO" to want-a-be kings.

As a part of the California Make Polluters Pay campaign, protestors gathered at the Santa Ana station calling on Senator Tom Umberg to meet with Youth on Climate.
Sunrise OC celebrated the year of 2025 in a banquet social. We celebrated the actions we took, the people who joined, and how we want to take action the next year.
Sunrise went to Black Star Canyon to get outside and do some cleaning.
